Hey Folks!!! Well, it may not show from the weather, but Spring is definitely here, and Im totally looking forward to the upcoming shows that will happen this season. From the American Flamewhip - "Activate" CD Release on May 2nd, the upcoming 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands Street Hockey Tourney at the end of June, to a most anticipated Summer Seance 2 with Xplicit in August, this summer is going to be one for the books!!! In the next couple of weeks, however, I will be doing some major revamping of this site, and I am looking forward to working with the numerous bands that rock this city! Also, "Live @ The Warehouse" , my new online performance venue will be launched in June, and I can't tell you how excited I am that this is finally going to happen! It's been a while, and it's taken alot of work to get this off the ground, and it's nice to see it all coming together with the support of all of you out there!
I would also like to welcome Winnipeg metal mongers OCD to Indie-Interactive, and in honor of their 'cutting edge' metal, I've added a new genre especially for them...RAZOR METAL...be sure to check that out. These guys blow the roof off every performance, and we'd like to show our support for that reason! Cheers to you guys!!! I've got lots of work to do here, so I "gots ta fly", but until next time, here's a show you should all check out...
.....and I'll see you all there!!!!
Cheers!

Monday

I'm Back!!!
It's a New Year, and time to get things going again.
Yes, it's been a little while since I've posted anything here, but the last few months have been absolutely crazy for me!
Aside from my father being quite ill, ( another story in itself), I've have been busy filming bands, doing interviews, writing and storyboarding a few music vids, AND working a couple of jobs to make ends meet. I have to say that the time has gone by pretty quick!
When I last posted, I was all hyped up from the Battle of the Bands Street Hockey Tourney I put on, and was looking forward to a long summer of great music and absolute mayhem.
Boy, was I in for a surprise!!
There were some amazing music festivals including Osborne Street Fest, Arson Fest, The Wpg Folk Festival, and Summer Seance - all of which I will be posting some video from - and some crappy stuff when we all got to see the demise of a great local music venue that was great for up and coming bands - The Collective Cabaret.
Since then, I've noticed that the atmosphere in the local music scene seemed to get a little stale. For some reason, maybe due to lack of Vitamin D (I hope!!!), the bands in this city have got the impression that there's just not enough support for them, and that the only real support comes from other bands or their close friends. On some levels, I have to agree.
So what do we do about it?
For starters, I'm going to start adding more bands to my genres list over the next few weeks.
I will also be featuring 3 local bands /solo artists a week, all from different genres, posting their show dates, bios, vids, and will offer up some juicy promos so that the folks out there who want to see and hear good music from some great artists, will get to do so.
No sense in promoting great shows, if you can't get out there to see them!! It just makes sense!!
I've also been planning the 1st Annual Winnipeg Music Industry Festival - an event that will specifically promote the incredible music that's being made, and the music industry itself from within our province....something which has never been done. I'm stoked!!
It's time to get the word out that Winnipeg is a Music Machine....and I'm going to prove it!!!
JAZZ, BLUES, METAL, HARD ROCK, INDY, FOLK, PUNK, and, THRASH....
What do all these genres have in common??
WINNIPEG!!!
That's right!! You can find them all, and hear them all HERE!! Locally...around the corner, down the street, uptown, and definitely at Indie-Interactive.
......till next time, browse around the different bands that are in my lists on the right, and take a gander at what's going on at some of our citys' top venues. ...then get out there and support the local music scene!!
Cheers!
